How fast do you think Clarkson drives on those TG races?

I'm rewatching some Top Gear (Mustang vs public transit) and wonder what the consensus might be. Legally I guess Top Gear can't say how fast he drives but when he's driving the Veyron, for example, there's no way he kept it reasonable.

He has mentioned previously how fast he was going in France. He wouldn't give the exact number, but it was around the 200mph mark.

One of the things I've heard from Matt Farah is that in order to make it look fast on TV, you have to be going VERY fast in real life. This is one of the reasons why Chris Harris goes everywhere sideways. Fast looks slow on camera.

Don't sweat Clarkson's Brit-centrism, just take solace that there aren't really any British cars (that matter) left. Jag & Land Rover are Indian, TVR is Russian, Aston Martin is Italian, and Bentley & Rolls-Royce are German (as is Mini, like anyone cares).

Is Ariel Motors the only relevant British car maker left?

Oh, and I fuckin LOVE it. Doesn't he realize that? He can stand around and criticize, but what does he have to beat his own chest about? Every British make has died, or could not sustain itself, or wasn't deemed worthy enough to save, for good reason. He literally stands alone on an island.
